Textbook Adoptions for the 2027-2028 SY
Flagstaff Unified School District aims to provide a coherent, content-rich, guaranteed, and viable curriculum for all students.
We engage with educators, family, students, community, and the school board to collaboratively adopt curriculum. View policy 5-207 for details.
There will be two public stakeholder meetings held for the purpose of recommending resources that provide a best fit for the needs of our students in this community.
The recommendations made by this committee will be relayed to the FUSD governing board for approval.
Upcoming High School Social Studies Curriculum Resource Review
FUSD is seeking to adopt comprehensive 9-12 Social Studies curriculum resources. A committee has been established to recommend curriculum resources that meet the needs of FUSD students and support rigorous, standards-aligned instruction.
The Adoption Committee will evaluate available programs for alignment with the Arizona Social Studies Standards, content and rigor, the quality and coherence of instructional support, the scope and sequence of content, and demonstrated effectiveness in advancing student learning. The review process will also consider the variety of assessments, the breadth of instructional materials available for differentiation, and the overall accessibility and usability of resources for both teachers and students.
Upcoming High School Mathematics Curriculum Resource Review
The Adoption Committee made up of teacher, administrators, district leaders, parents and community members will review and consider curriculum resources based on multiple factors, including:
- Alignment with the Arizona Mathematics Standards
- Content quality, rigor, and mathematical coherence
- Scope and sequence of instruction
- Quality and coherence of instructional resources and teacher support
- Opportunities for mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and discourse
- Assessment resources and opportunities for progress monitoring
- Resources and supports for intervention, enrichment, and differentiation
- Accessibility and usability for both teachers and students
- Digital resources and instructional technology
- Professional learning and implementation support
- Evidence of effectiveness in supporting student learning
The review process will include feedback from teachers participating in the mathematics pilot, as well as input from other stakeholders.
